Make Your Own Homemade Toilet Bowl Cleaner for a Sparkling Clean Bathroom
An Effective and Eco-Friendly Recipe using Natural Ingredients such as Castile Soap, Essential Oils, and Baking Soda
The other day, I used up the last of my toilet bowl cleaner. Rather than run to the store, I looked to see if I could find an effective homemade version. I found My Merry Messy Life and she had this recipe and I just happened to have all the ingredients!
The Ingredients:
1 3/4 cups of water
1/4 cup of castile soap (scent of your choice)
8 drops of essential oil
2 tablespoons of baking soda
Each of the ingredients used in this recipe plays an important role in cleaning the toilet bowl. Here is a closer look at each one:
Water: Water is a universal solvent, which means it has the ability to dissolve a variety of substances. When mixed with other ingredients, water helps to dilute them and makes them easier to apply.
Castile Soap: Castile soap is a natural soap made from vegetable oils, which is gentle on the skin and the environment. It is also an effective cleaning agent that can remove dirt, grime, and stains from the toilet bowl.
Essential Oil: Essential oils are highly concentrated plant extracts known for their natural cleaning properties. In this recipe, essential oils are used for their antibacterial and antifungal properties, which can help to eliminate harmful bacteria and fungi from the toilet bowl.
Baking Soda: Baking soda is a mild abrasive that can help to scrub away dirt and stains from the toilet bowl. It is also a natural deodorizer that can help eliminate bathroom odors.
Now for the instructions. It’s pretty straight forward!
Instructions:
In a large bowl, mix together the water and castile soap until they are well combined.
Add the essential oil to the mixture and stir well.
Next, slowly add the baking soda to the mixture, stirring continuously until it is completely dissolved.
Transfer the mixture to a spray bottle (or I used a hair coloring bottle) and shake well before use.
To use the homemade toilet bowl cleaner, spray the mixture onto the toilet bowl and let it sit for a few minutes. Then, use a toilet brush to scrub the bowl and flush the toilet. This recipe can be used regularly to keep your toilet bowl clean and hygienic.
Making your own toilet bowl cleaner is not only cost-effective but also a safer and more environmentally friendly option. Using simple and natural ingredients like water, castile soap, essential oils, and baking soda makes creating an effective cleaner that will leave your toilet bowl sparkling clean super easy. And it really did clean! I was impressed. Another product down for a healthier, cleaner home!
