It was a long weekend off of school for Eden. Which was perfect because I had the itch for a road trip. Meow Wolf had been on my list, so I decided to take advantage and hit the road for a quick trip to Santa Fe, NM.

Meow Wolf has a few different locations, Currently, Santa Fe, Las Vegas, and Denver (coming in 2021, when will one come to Austin?!).

If you’re a road tripper like me, then you know that a 10-hour trip is no big thing.

My favorite way to road trip (if I don’t have any stops on the way) is to leave super early in the morning (3 am depending on how far my destination is but basically drive all night), and get there right in time to explore. It really works out well with the little kids because it eliminates the “are we there yet”, potty breaks, and the need for snacks or activities! Pro tip lol

We actually spent a few days here and tried our legs at snowboarding..(never again! I’m officially just a skier). But that’ll be another post.

I recommend buying your tickets online so you don’t have to worry about the tickets selling out or waiting in large lines. There was a line almost the length of the warehouse when we arrived and eventually learned there was a separate line for online purchases - it was much shorter.

Lots of bookshelves opening, hidden hallways and climbing through everyday household items and structures!

There is a whole storyline that goes along with the house (this meow wolf theme is - the house of eternal return) you can follow along with each room that you go into. Eden was younger then and didn’t get into it. But next time, I’m excited to experience it!

There are so many rooms and things to explore. Some of my favorite parts were, well, of course, walking through the refrigerator and the laser light harp. That was pretty neat.

Beyond that, there is a whole house to navigate, a psychedelic village, art collages, the list goes on and on. They also have adult nights where bands play on one of their stages. It was a really neat way to spend our day while we waited to check into our Airbnb! Click here for hours, pricing, more information, and let me know if you go to one!

About the author

Hey, y’all my name is Kassandra and I’m a mama to 4, road-trip/hiking obsessed, herbal medicine enthusiast who specializes in nothing (well, I am a hairstylist so I do specialize in hair lol) but is interested in everything.

Most of all, planning, taking and sharing travel/road trip ideas. Encouraging folks to do the “I wish I could do that” thing. One of my favorite messages to get is “I saw your post and tried it”.

So I keep sharing. When I’m not traveling, I sate my wanderlust by cooking, planning more trips, working on my Airbnb, converting a bus to an RV, designing products (multi-passionate entrepreneur here), and regaling past adventures to share with y’all!
