I was more than surprised to find this state park in Texas!

It was one of those, I wish we would’ve planned more time here.

There is a visitor center with lots of information and learning opportunities for the little ones. There you can also purchase a saucer to slide down the dunes. If you have your own, bring them! Just make sure you have enough wax to rub on the bottom of the sled, skis or snowboard. Or you won’t be getting far.

We did our usual lay down all the van seats and the boys pitch a tent. This was pre-queen size air mattress times! I had no complaints about the bedroom views.

To find all the information on the park, click here for the park’s official website.

We made our visit during the beginning of covid, so many people had canceled their reservation we got lucky not needing one. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend making camping or day pass reservations ahead of time.

About the author

Hey, y’all my name is Kassandra and I’m a mama to 4, road-trip/hiking obsessed, herbal medicine enthusiast who specializes in nothing (well, I am a hairstylist so I do specialize in hair lol) but is interested in everything.

Most of all, planning, taking and sharing travel/road trip ideas. Encouraging folks to do the “I wish I could do that” thing. One of my favorite messages to get is “I saw your post and tried it”.

So I keep sharing. When I’m not traveling, I sate my wanderlust by cooking, planning more trips, working on my Airbnb, converting a bus to an RV, designing products (multi-passionate entrepreneur here), and regaling past adventures to share with y’all!
